“Save9 were commissioned by Scarborough Borough Council (SBC) to perform the initial ICT specification for Woodend Creative Workspace - a fully serviced digital and creative media centre providing office accommodation to over 50 businesses; now independently managed by the CIC Trust (Creative Industries Centre Trust Ltd). Save9’s remit was to produce a comprehensive technical specification which would ensure that the centre was fit-for-purpose – ensuring both the CIC Trust’s requirements and those of its tenants would be met. Neither SBC or the CIC Trust are ICT providers so the expertise, knowledge and experience that Save9 brought to the table were crucial to the project’s success. Save9 were able to scope the most appropriate technical infrastructure for Woodend (e.g. type of telephone system, essential software, information security, tenant billing systems, hot-desking and shared secure networking) and to advise on the correct cabling and IT hardware products. Their work with the chosen fibre broadband provider (NYnet) also proved to be a defining contribution to the final design and set-up of Woodend, a testament to our success in deploying a portfolio of ICT services that enables our tenants to run their businesses at optimum capacity with minimal technical intervention.”
